Flat Rat: A Slammed1950 Ford COE Firetruck On Air

I know, I know, I explained I’d article far more of this 1950 Ford COE just around a 7 days in the past. My terrible, I obtained a very little distracted. I’ll expose why soon. But, take these extra pics of my penance.

This truck, identified as the Flat Rat hails from Keswick Ontario and was built by it is proprietor Scott Badger (@keswickscott).

Scott has owned the truck cab about 10 many years now. Items really acquired going on the truck about 5 a long time ago, with sizeable development staying designed throughout the pandemic.

From behind the tilt cab to where the custom four-link starts off is most of a widened Chevy 3500 chassis. Ahead of the entrance wheels is mainly manufacturing unit Ford with signficant modifications accomplished to make the steering operate at the truck’s new top.

The motor is a 7.3L Powerstroke with a T4 turbo update backed by an computerized transmission.

Scott managed to maintain as much unique as he could, but he did have to replace a little bit of sheet steel right here and on the cab. The new additions had been sprayed by Scott in either white or red.

Scott and his son also produced all 11 feet of the bed from scratch.

Nothing much more than an English wheel and a Princess Car bead roller was applied in the bed development.

In reality, the entire truck was created in a instead humble house garage. Proving once yet again that wherever there’s a will there’s a way when it will come to do-it-by yourself fabrication. A little something that undoubtedly supplied a little bit of enthusiasm for my have venture.

The tailgate of the truck is truly a second COE front close that has been modified to generate a tailgate. Scott filled the grill, built it hinge and took the Super Duty embossing from a late model ford.

“If this is not Tremendous Obligation I really don’t know what is,” Scott said.

For the eagle-eyed, sure the tail lights are rotated variations from a 65 Ford Mustang, Quite clever if you inquire me.

Certainly, this truck is very a lot up my alley and I hope to see much more of it once more soon.

Ontario is back jamming once again and I’m certainly here for it!
