Plane crash at Ohio dealership kills 2

A plane crashed into a Buick-GMC dealership in southeast Ohio early Tuesday, police reported.

The 1974 Beechcraft King Air E90 crashed into Pioneer Buick-GMC’s parking good deal in Marietta, Ohio, all around 7:15 a.m. neighborhood time, a push launch from the Ohio Condition Highway Patrol explained.

The pilot and a next occupant ended up killed in the crash. No injuries have been claimed on the floor.

There was substantial destruction to a number of cars and the dealership building.

Rod Taylor, standard manager of Pioneer Buick-GMC, claimed the plane experienced appear from Columbus, Ohio, and was traveling to close by Parkersburg, W.Va.

He explained 12 to 15 autos experienced been dropped in the crash, predominantly due to burning gas. The dealership creating was “scorched,” but Taylor claimed it was nothing that couldn’t be cleaned off.

“Luckily, the hearth trucks received here fast adequate, and there was not any true harm to the setting up,” Taylor explained to Automotive News. “Practically nothing that a ability washer or some paint cannot repair.”

The dealership is shut in the aftermath, but some workers remain in the constructing.

Pioneer Buick-GMC is element of Nourse Automotive Team, which owns two additional stores in Marietta, 9 other new-vehicle dealerships across southern Ohio and northern West Virginia, as well as eight employed-auto a lot, Taylor explained.

“It is a tragic circumstance,” Taylor reported. “For two people, regardless of what they’re going to be experiencing in the next two days.”
