RDS Automotive Group buys Philadelphia-area Ferrari, Nissan dealerships


RDS Automotive Team expanded its portfolio of manufacturers — on equally ends of the spectrum — with acquisitions in late 2021 and early 2022.

The luxurious-targeted group not only purchased just one of the market’s rarest dealership offerings in Ferrari, it also purchased a major-line quantity dealership in Nissan.

RDS Automotive, of Newtown Sq., Pa., obtained its initially Ferrari dealership when it purchased Algar Ferrari of Philadelphia in Bryn Mawr, Pa., from Aleks Vekselberg on Dec. 23. Bryn Mawr is northwest of Philadelphia.

Vekselberg experienced owned the dealership due to the fact 2012, according to its web page. The store dates to 1964.

RDS Automotive renamed the dealership Ferrari Philadelphia.

As of Jan. 1, there had been just 14 exceptional Ferrari dealerships in the country and 46 general franchises, according to estimates in Automotive News’ annual dealership census.

RDS also sells Porsche, Lamborghini, McLaren, Bugatti, Maserati, Koenigsegg and Automobili Pininfarina from dealerships in suburban Philadelphia, Connecticut and Southern California.

The Ferrari buy marked RDS Automotive’s to start with acquisition because it acquired Lamborghini and McLaren dealerships in Newport Seaside and Costa Mesa, Calif., in 2017, DiStanislao said.

And just times just after RDS acquired the Ferrari dealership, it sold Alfa Romeo Newport Beach front in Costa Mesa to MCA MIT 2 LLC on Dec. 28. That dealership moved to nearby Irvine, Calif., and was renamed Irvine Alfa Romeo.

Nissan obtain

On Jan. 31, RDS Automotive purchased its very first mass market-model dealership when it obtained Devon Nissan in Pennsylvania.

The team bought the store from Steven Silverio, DiStanislao explained. The keep was renamed Nissan of the Key Line. Devon is also northwest of Philadelphia.

RDS is relocating its Porsche of the Principal Line dealership in Newtown Square to a new 86,000-square-foot setting up with four levels future door to the existing retail outlet. The new dealership is also set to open up in June.

Moreover, RDS Automotive was awarded an open up place from Lotus and is targeting an open up date of late summer months for a standalone dealership, DiStanislao mentioned, which will be situated on the similar campus as the Porsche dealership.
